Venku:How it came into existence:
Subbu:Its Veda Vyasar’s birthday and is known as Vyasa Poornima.
Vyasa also started writing Brahmasutras on this day. His disciples started to worship him on this day & were blessed with long and prosperous life.People started following the practice of respecting their Guru’s in northern parts of India which was equally commended and appreciated by Baba
Even Buddhists worship lord Buddha who gave His first sermon on this day at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Subbu:Baba prompted Dada Kelkar, TatyaSaheb Noolkar, Madhavrav Desphande and few others to start performing Guru Puja on Guru Poornima Day in 1908. Since then ,Shirdi dazzles in grand decoration, being flooded by thousands of devotees for their much revered Guru’s Darshan.

Veda Vyasa is known as Vyasadeva , Krsna, Krsna-dvaipayana, Dvaipayana, Satyavati-suta, Parasarya, Parasaratmaja, Badarayana.
Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa is the son of Parashara & Satyavati
He is the author of :
* Four Vedas,
* BrahmaSutras &
* Mahabharatham.
His four chief disciples :
* Paila,
* Vaisampayana,
* Jaimini and
* Sumantu.
